Sharing the Fit Life: 5 Tips for Healthy Living

Taking care of yourself is the most important thing — mind, body and soul. Recently, we started a Facebook page where we share exercise tips, life advice and recipes that help you live your best fit life. And now, we’re sharing five tips for healthy living.

1.Eat a balanced diet

First and foremost, the most important thing is a balanced diet. And your balanced diet doesn’t have to be a boring one. All you need to make sure you do is get the appropriate amount of proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and fats.

2. Exercise Consistently

Going hand in hand with eating right, is exercising every day. Studies show that staying active for at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week helps you keep a healthy lifestyle.  So get outside! Walk your dog or walk to your favorite coffee shop.

3. Take time out to relax

As important exercising is, relaxing is just as important to keep a healthy mind. There’s plenty of ways to do this: deep breathing, yoga, having a bath, reading a book, whatever makes you feel most relaxed. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health.

4. Drink more water

We may think we drink enough water, but studies show that most of us don’t! It’s suggested that you drink at least six to eight cups at a minimum.  And if you think the taste is too bland you can mix it up with some veggies like cucumbers, lemons or oranges.

5. Make and Keep a Regular Sleeping Schedule

It’s always true that a good night’s sleep makes us feel better physically and mentally. Aim for seven to nine hours of sleep to get the most and feel your best.
