MC Residential Rent Relief Program Application

One such promise is our Rent Relief Program, part of our Rent Rescue Solutions. We know that from time-to-time life can be difficult, which is why we offer our residents options to qualify for when life throws a curve ball.

The Emergency Rental Relief Program provides MC Community residents with assistance for both rent and RUBS charges. Eligible households may receive up to one-month’s rent and RUBS charges. This is one-time Rent Relief. 

Overview of Eligibility for MC Rent Relief Program:

You are facing eviction within 60 days;

You’ve been a resident in your current community for 9+ months and intend to stay in your home;

You’ve had a specific incident within the last 60 days which caused or will cause a delinquency in payment of your rent. The financial crisis was unexpected and outside of your control. You have taken every step possible to reduce your monthly expenses. In the event of a death of  a leaseholder, please be prepared to provide a copy of the death certificate;

You have not violated any terms of your lease;

You have enough income, after Rent Relief has been used, to cover your future rent and expenses. Alternatively, you have a good job prospect or other income expected within a specific period of time and can provide supporting documentation such as a job offer letter, proof of upcoming SS, disability, or unemployment benefits, etc.

If approved, resident may be awarded one-time Rent Relief up to the equivalent of one-month’s rent and RUBS charges. In order to receive the Rent Relief, all remaining balances, including all legal fees, must be paid in full before the benefit is applied to the resident’s ledger.

Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received.  Please note that not all applications will be approved, as funds are extremely limited.  You should be notified of a decision within 15 business days.

ELIGIBILITY FOR MC RENT RELIEF PROGRAM (to be initialed by Applicant)

Applicant must currently occupy an apartment in one of the MC Residential properties
Applicant must be a current leaseholder
Applicant and all other occupants of the unit must be in good standing (no non-compliance notices)
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older
Applicant attests they understand that monthly household income must be in keeping with the current property’s rental criteria
Applicant attests that they risk housing instability or homelessness
Applicant attests that they risk housing instability or homelessness, verified by past due rent and a pending court case for non-payment
Applicant and all other occupants properly maintain their apartment home. Applicant understands that before an application is approved, a unit inspection will be conducted by the Community Director
Applicant has been a resident for no less than nine months
Applicant attests that they will resume regular full rental payments if assistance is granted
The following required documentation must be uploaded in order for your application to be processed:
• Lease contract
• Resident Ledger
• Copy of legal notice
• Two months of verifiable income and/or proof of employment
• Supporting documentation that demonstrates the ability to meet future rental obligations
• Copy of all checking and savings account statements (3 months’ worth)
• Proof of other expenses (medical, car, etc).
