5 Ways to Make the Most Out of Your Small Closets

We all wish we had a bigger closet — even if we already do have one. But for those of us with a smaller closet, it can be hard to fit in all those shoes, clothes, and whatever else you want to. Maximize your closet space with these 5 tips.

1. Get Rid of Some Stuff

A super easy way to make the most out of your small closet is not to have so much in there! Take a day and purge your closet of all the shoes you don’t wear, the dresses that don’t fit/aren’t in style and the accessories that just don’t work with anything. It’ll be the smallest change with the biggest impact — plus it leaves room for anything future you might want to put in there!

2. Go Vertical

Your closet may be small, but it might be tall. So use that extra space up high to hang things or use a closet rod extender to add a second, lower rod that hangs off the existing one! You’ll be able to go up and save some space.

3. Hook Up

Going hand in hand with going vertical, another great way to make the most out of your closet is to add more hooks! This way you can hang your accessories like your purses, scarves, etc. instead of having them in a pile on the floor. They can hang in the back of your closet where all that wasted wall space is.

4. Use the Doors…

Hang up a shoe rack or a row of hooks onto the back of your door.  That way you can save some space and have your shoes and accessories right there for you to quickly grab and go instead of digging through your closet!

5. And the Floors.

Reorganize the floor of your tiny closet with some storage space savers. You can have a small cubby that you can store your shoes in or whatever else you might want to put in there. Plus, it saves you from creating that pile of mess on the floor!

Your closet might be small, but that doesn’t mean it can’t fit all of your favorite items! Hopefully these tips have helped you out — share your own in the comments!
